2017/2018 Beacon Council Annual Meeting & Key Ceremony, Magic Xperience Showcased

As it’s been done for years now, the Beacon Council kicked-off it’s highly anticipated Annual Meeting and Key Ceremony to honor its economic development successes with 25-40 new and expanding companies with a Key to the County. As Miami Dade County’s official economic development partner, the Beacon Council works alongside our community to bring about local jobs and capital investment resulting in greater opportunities to our economy. Among some of the honoree companies were some of Miami’s most innovative startups and entrepreneurs making an impact in Miami and beyond.

One of the highlights, if not THE highlight of the night, was the “passing of the baton” from now ex-Chair Jaret Davis from Greenberg Taurig, P.A. to now chair Nelson Lazo, CEO of Doctors Hospital Baptist Health South Florida. What followed was an outpour of gratitude for his years of dedication to the Beacon Council from the professional community, Jaret’s own family and even his beloved University of Miami’s president Julio Frenk.

We also had the pleasure of having one of our Softlanding Program clients to be included in their showcase as part of an exciting line-up of startups and corporate companies. As one their focus areas lies in technology, Magic Xperience fit the bill perfectly as an expanding U.S. company. Magic Xperience connects everyday objects, products, advertising collateral and more, to AR (augmented reality) technology. You explore this further here.

David Bensoussan, Founder and Managing Partner of StartHub presents Magic Xperience to an interested bystander. Business operations are handled by the Starthub team to ensure Magic Xperience’s US endeavor, is a sure one.

It was fascinating for us to showcase what this company is capable of doing, but most importantly, demonstrate the level of service and execution involved in operating a U.S. Subsidiary. In this case, being there as a “trade-show” attendee. This is only one minutiae aspect of what it is to be part of a “soft-landing” program. Our focus is to provide an all around “a la carte” service in which we (as in StartHub) “become” that U.S. company. This way when an international business is able to see the traction, clients and market fit in the U.S. it makes for a more seamless launch of full operations and deployment of all resources to establish their permanent operations here.
