Starthub Veteran Brings Female Workspace to Miami
Once upon a time, in the magical city of Miami, a young stylist named Sarah Akiba founded a non-profit organization, Angel Watching Over Me. The foundation supports those who have lost a loved one and serves as a network of ‘angels without wings’ to others.
She quickly made a life-long friend. With the help of Starthub founder, David Bensoussan, she began her journey as a social entrepreneur with her very own private office at Starthub Miami. Eventually, she launched a clothing line called AWOM Club, in which 5% of the proceeds go to the foundation. Her team worked incredibly hard and they eventually outgrew their office at Starthub…
Fast forward to today, Sarah is taking the AWOM brand to the next level with a full-service creative agency & workspace! Female-only workspaces have been popping up all over the world, so Sarah decided it was time to bring that same kind of support to Miami.
AWOM Lab is a new female workspace. A membership for female creatives to work alongside one another on the daily. The space offers a cafe, high-speed wifi, small retail store, and full-service photography studio. With the membership also comes free weekly events led by other female creatives and girl bosses. Next week we even start a free yoga class! The creative agency offers just about everything – from branding to web development, graphic design to social media management. We specialize in creating social media content for smaller brands.
Sarah has done an incredible job making her dreams a reality. We are humbled to know she was able to hit the ground running with the help of Starthub Miami. Shoutout to you, Sarah! We wish nothing but the best for you and your future endeavors!
